LEGAL / TERMS OF USE
TERMS OF USE.
The rules for using this website: what you may do with what is published here, what is owned by whom, and the limits of what I promise. Short, and in plain language.
This page is a plain-language summary written for readability, not a negotiated contract. If you are engaging me for paid work, the signed statement of work governs and takes precedence over anything here.
//Using this site#
You are welcome to read, link to, quote and share anything published here. No permission needed for a link or a short quotation with attribution. What you may not do is republish whole articles as your own, scrape the site to resell the content, or present the case studies as your own work.
I offer the site as it is. I may change, restructure or remove pages without notice, and URLs may move. I try to redirect rather than break links, but I do not guarantee any page stays where it is.
//Who owns what#
The writing, the layout, the code behind this site and the case study text are mine. Code snippets published in the journal are free for you to use in your own projects, commercial or otherwise, with no attribution required — they are examples, not a library.
Client names, logos and product imagery belong to those clients and appear here with permission. Do not reuse them. The typefaces are licensed from their foundries and are not mine to sublicense.
//What I do not promise#
Nothing here is a warranty. The site may contain mistakes, the technical claims reflect what was true when written, and the code examples are illustrative rather than production-hardened. Test anything before you ship it. To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for losses arising from decisions you make based on what you read here.
That limit applies to the website. It does not limit obligations under a signed contract for paid work, which carries its own terms, warranties and liability caps.
//Enquiries are not engagements#
Emailing me does not create a contract, a retainer or a duty of confidentiality on my side. If you need to share something sensitive before we have paperwork in place, ask for an NDA first and I will sign a reasonable one.
//Law and changes#
These terms are governed by the law of [YOUR JURISDICTION], and disputes go to the courts of [YOUR CITY]. If a clause turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands. When I change this page I update the date at the top; I do not keep a version history, so treat the current text as the whole of it.
