ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT.
What has been done to make this site usable with a keyboard, a screen reader or reduced motion, what was measured, and the parts that are known to fall short.
//Commitment#
This site aims at WCAG 2.1 level AA. That target is not decoration: the European Accessibility Act has applied to many commercial digital services since June 2025, and the underlying standard for web content is the same one. Where this site falls short it is listed below, rather than left for you to discover.
//What has been done#
- Text contrast measured rather than eyeballed: body text 19.7:1, secondary text 7.4:1, small labels 4.6:1 against the page — all above the AA thresholds.
- Every page is reachable and readable by keyboard, with a visible focus ring and a skip link to the main content.
- One h1 per page, headings in order, landmarks for navigation, main and footer, breadcrumbs marked up as a list.
- All 47 images carry descriptive alt text written for someone who cannot see them; decorative canvases are hidden from assistive technology.
- prefers-reduced-motion is honoured throughout: it flattens the pinned scroll sections, stops the animated backgrounds, skips the per-word heading reveal and the image wipes, removes the reading-progress bar and disables page view transitions — rather than merely slowing any of it down.
- Explicit width and height on every image, so nothing reflows under a screen reader or a magnifier.
- No third-party scripts or embeds, so no inaccessible widget can be injected into a page.
//Known shortfalls#
Naming these is the point of a statement like this.
- The home page is a scroll-driven WebGL experience. Under reduced motion it becomes a static document, but it is still the heaviest page here and not the easiest route to the information. Every section it covers also exists as a plain page, linked from the footer.
- The animated technology core responds to hover and keyboard focus but conveys depth through opacity, which will read as low contrast for some users. The same information is plain text on the stack pages.
- The custom cursor is decorative, is disabled on touch devices, and adds nothing for screen reader users.
- Assessment is self-conducted, using automated checks and manual keyboard testing. It has not been audited by a third party and has not been tested with JAWS, NVDA or VoiceOver by people who use them daily — which is the test that actually counts.
